Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen!
First of all, I would like to thank the Jury members for selecting our company as the ‘Best Employer of the Year’ and honouring us with this award. Well, this is a very proud moment for me as it took approximately 5 years to reach this platform. But let me tell you, I didn’t walk alone; I was accompanied by all the valuable staff members and the dedicated employees who have worked day-in and day-out to make the company one of the most recognisable brands in India. Here, I would especially like to thank the customers too, who believed in us and gave us continuous business which motivated us to work harder to give them the best services in our capacity.
Being awarded with the best employer award means a lot for me because it means our employees love our organization and they are happy with us. Every year, we internally conduct the bi-annual employee survey to determine what we are lacking at and what we are good at. The employees are only asked to fill the survey without mentioning their name or department. We maintain this fairness so that we can actually work upon the weaknesses. I especially thank all the employees who had been very honest with the survey in sharing their feelings with us, because it motivated us to do better for them and thus, we are here today receiving this award.
Since last 5 years, our company has not only worked upon enhancing the product and services we offer, but the management and HR have also worked upon making the work culture better for our internal employees too. Our company works upon 5 basic philosophies: Stability, Compensation, Respect, Health Benefits and Work-Life Balance for the employees.
I would like to take some moment today to especially thank the Human Resource Department and the Management who have worked with much dedication and formulated policies which not just work for the benefit of the customers, but also helps employees maintaining their work-life balance and thus meeting the company’s common objective.
The last 5 years have been a great journey for us and we have also seen our due share of ups and downs in the company. The first two years, we were busy with establishing ourselves and creating brand name and image and the next 3 years we worked in maintaining the image that we established. The company has also seen the downturn for 1 continuous year, but the constant and unconditional support that I have got from the staff, management, and the employees was outstanding, which motivated me to come over the challenge.
I would also like to mention the name of the shareholders, who have always trusted and believed us and have continued to invest in our company.
Last but not the least of course, winning this honour wouldn’t have been possible without my family’s moral support and inspiration; they are truly my backbone.
I sincerely thank each one of you for your continuous support and also all the internal and external stakeholders who are directly or indirectly involved in the making and functioning of our company.
With this note, I’ll end my speech with the promise that there are more such awards to follow.
Thank You!

Good evening everyone,
Thank you jury for this honor and giving this award in my hand, it makes feel great on being rewarded for the hard work that one does.
I am grateful to everyone who has always been a part of my journey, from my family to friends, from boss to my team and everyone. It is a pleasure to witness this beautiful moment in the presence of you all. On stage it is me who is taking over this award but on backend there are many people along with the great power of god who have enabled me to put in efforts and make me capable of getting this award. Each one of you has enabled me to bring the ideas into reality. My strength always increased on dealing with the challenges and overcoming them.
I cannot thank god enough for making my existence fruitful and ensuring that my focus drives through dedication throughout the deeds that I do for myself and the people related to me. This award is a symbol of the blessings that I have received during my journey till now. I am grateful of having held this award as a return towards my attempt towards my tasks with utmost purity and dedication.
Many challenges and problem appeared in the journey but with time and dedicated efforts each of them got solved and hence it is today that you all can see how blissful smile is accompanying me this evening. Each of my team members deserves this equivalent award for all the day to day tasks attempted by them. We always aim at working as a family and have a united focus on our dreams which enables us to work and cope with higher expectations. Our collective team efforts have resulted in such incredible results, and it is a great achievement of each individual team member.
I am glad to clear all the scrutiny levels and have the privilege of selected amongst all for this award. I cannot thank my parents enough for the education privilege that they have given me; without this it would have never been possible to reach such heights and stand in front of such skilled and well qualified people. This award is surely a reward for the past tasks successfully done by me and my team. But on the other hand, this reward will be a big time motivation for the projects coming our way. This will be the encouragement and rise in our enthusiasm for doing the best and reaching more great heights that make us eligible for receiving award every time at this huge platform of recognition.
My sincere gratitude to all for the tremendous ongoing encouragements that have throughout enabled me to put in the efforts and all time dedication for attainment of wonderful things. Collated team achievements much more mesmerizing than the partial achievements achieved through alone efforts. Thank you team for every time that you have held my hand to take everything together from all ends and make our deeds capable of reaching this huge stage.
Thank You everyone!!

Good morning everyone. I welcome you all on this assembly specially dedicated to the labour day celebration.
This day is usually celebrated on 1st May every year but it tends to also vary as per the countries. This day is also known as the May day. It is celebrated in order to acknowledge the economic and social achievements of workers. It is celebrated to promote and encourage the labour associations. The theme of celebrating this May Day is to finish the struggle as well as to promote the requirement of eight-hour work day, this was triggered as earlier the standard working hours ranged from 12 to 16 hours a day. To overcome people’s agitation and safeguard themselves from moral and physical injuries it was essential to cut it short to 8 hours a day. This day has utmost importance in every country as this lays the dedication towards the efforts of the work force.
Just imagine, if we people had to work for 12 to 16 hours a day how restless and irritated we would have always felt. Honestly, at present I even wish that there should be a provision of flexible hours depending on the workload on an employee or worker. This day has equal or if i may say more importance that the appraisal day to the workers. This day has led a great impact by the reduction of working hours and laying down the base for appraising the accomplishments and achievements of the work force.
This celebration has become a historic significance all over the world and celebrated by the Labor unions worldwide. Labourers always put in their efforts to make our lives better and indeed they deserve the honour for the work they do. In India, this labour day was celebrated for the first time in year 1923. This day is a special occasion when countries worldwide celebrate the true spirit of the working class and labourers. It’s the day when workers get together and celebrate their strengths which tend to indicate how effectively they always have been able to and will continue to struggle to bring in positive reforms for the working class of the society.
We all should safeguard the working class in all respects that we can do. It is indeed a special work force that put in efforts for their well being and better lives. Though this day is celebrated as a national holiday in most of the countries but we should not just deal with this day as a holiday but also as the true dedication to honour their efforts and activities done. We should encourage our children and other associates to celebrate this day in their own way and should know the importance of this day.
Special seminars and sessions should be conducted for recognising the efforts of the labour force. Thank you for gracing this occasion and sharing your views along with me.
Thank you!

Good Morning Friends!
We have gathered here to celebrate the International Labour’s Day at our company; it is celebrated annually on 1st May to commemorate the hard work and dedication of labours towards the organisation irrespective of their power and position, roles and responsibilities. Labour Day is an honour to the social and economic achievements of the workers. Labour Day is also known as ‘May Day’ or International Worker’s Day and is celebrated as a National Holiday in approximately 80 countries. It ideally constitutes annual and national acknowledgment towards the devotion and contributions of the workers who ensure the prosperity, strength and well-being of the country.
Our organisation gives utmost importance to the hard work of every employee and believes in giving them equal rights. I am associated with this company for around 35 years now and I haven’t come across a single issue or grievance that is related to the suppression of the labour’s rights.
Since we have many new joiners in the organisation who are also present today; I would like to give a brief about the origin of Labour’s day. May Day or the Labour Day originated in the late 19th Century from the United States labour union movement advocates eight hours of work per day. Since the working conditions in the late nineteenth century were pathetic and unsafe for the workers, they had to work for around 12-16 hours per day. In 1884, The Federation of Organized Trades and Labour Unions (FOLTU) passed a resolution that 8 working hours shall constitute a legal working day from 1st May, 1886 onwards. Several movements, strikes, etc were undertaken by the labours demanding a standard eight hours of working day. Five years later, 1st May was recognized as a National holiday by a socialist organization and gradually several countries adopted this culture.
May Day is purely celebrated to pay tribute and honour to the contributions made by the workers towards the betterment of an organisation and consequently our society. But today, the Labour Day has evolved as a labour union celebration losing the deeper and the true significance of this day.
Even though, our organisation strongly recognises the rights of the labours also known as employees, but there are several companies which actually take the employees for granted. Though Labour Day was started to implement the 8-hour of work per day schedule, but an employee has several other rights in the organisation too. It’s important that the organisation doesn’t solely operate with the intention of generating profit; but it should also take care of the needs and requirements of the employees without whom, the company cannot achieve its goals. At the same time, labours or employees should also respect the work culture and stick to the code of conduct of the organisation they are working with.
Labour Day certainly protects the rights of the labours and the employees should not use it as a weapon to threaten the management in order to achieve undue advantages; only then will the purpose of the Labour Day will be fulfilled.
Thank You!

Good morning to the Excellencies, Principal Sir, Sir, Madam and my dear friends. My name is … I study in class … Today, we are here to celebrate a most important day, world environment day. I will recite a speech on the history of world environment day and its necessity to be established. I have especially selected this topic because of much importance of it for our better future.
World environment day is a day especially celebrated to know and solve all the environmental issues. It is also known as the Environment Day, Eco Day or WED. It is a great annual event focusing on the issues of environment and trying to solve them completely. It is being celebrated for years worldwide with lots of creative activities and enthusiasm to bring positive changes in the environment. It aims to protect the natural environment forever on the earth for the healthy possibility of life.
It is celebrated annually on 5th of June since 1973 however declared in 1972 by the United Nations General Assembly during the opening of conference on Human Environment to raise the global awareness about declining condition of the environment as well as tell people about the importance of healthy and green environment on earth. The annual celebration of it depends on the particular theme of the year (declared by the UN) which focuses on implementing some new and effective plans to save the environment.
My dear friends, this event is celebrated globally in more than 100 countries because this issue cannot be solved individually by one country. It is a global issue and needs to be solved globally by the involvement of all the countries worldwide. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme whereas its annual celebration is organized by the different host city every year declared by the United Nations. The host city of this campaign in 2016 was Angola. First time it was celebrated in 1973 with the theme of “Only one Earth”.
It aims to engage and draw attention of millions of people including political and health organizations from different countries across the world to make new plans and implement them accordingly. It is very necessary to address the issues like wastage and losses of food, increasing global warming, deforestation, pollution, industrialization, etc in order to control the negative environmental changes. Its celebration focuses on carbon neutrality, forest management, managing greenhouse effect, promoting bio-fuels production, use of hydro-power to produce electricity, encouraging people to use solar water heaters, use of solar system, promoting coral reefs and mangroves restoration and other effectives of environmental preservation.
Healthy Environment, Happy Future!
Thank You

Good morning to the Principal Sir, Sir, Madam, my seniors and my dear colleagues. My name is … I study in class … and I would like to speech on world environment day – a campaign made by the UNGA to solve all the environmental issues for safe environment and better future. My dear friends, we have gathered here to celebrate this great event today on 5th of June. And, I am very thankful to my class teacher for giving me such a great opportunity to speech at this event. World environment day is a big day for us which has been created, to make us realize that what wrong we are doing towards the nature, for our betterment in future.
The celebration of this campaign in 2016 was based on the special slogan “Go wild for life” and theme “fight against the illegal trade in wildlife for life” (means zero tolerance for the illegal trade in wildlife). The special theme was declared this year to focus on the life of wild animals like orangutans, elephants, gorillas, pangolins, whales, rhinos, sea turtles, rosewoods, tigers, helmeted hornbills, including other species. This action is taken to safeguard the species that are under threat for future generations. The increasing rate of crime in wildlife has damaged the ecosystem balance very seriously which needs urgent action to reverse it.
Wildlife trade has negatively affected the wild life and some of the animal species are near to the extinction in many countries. Wildlife traders are loading their purses from many years but they are emptying the nature’s store. This campaign celebration in 2016 has aimed to reduce the demand of illegal wildlife products in any field all over the world. It is our responsibility too that we should actively involve in this campaign to completely remove the wildlife crime worldwide. This global crime forces us to stand together to stop the trafficking of wildlife. We should promote the activities regarding solution of environmental issues through arts, crafts exhibitions, flash mobs, film festivals, social media, etc. We should be conscious what is going wrong in our environment and try our best to stop that in nearby areas. Many members of a family work hard to earn money and run a home. My dear friends, we all are members of a family and live in one home under one roof that is earth and environment. We should take care of both because our life will be healthy and safe only when the earth will be green and environment clean.
One Earth, One Environment and One Life; so live it, don’t waste it!
Thank You

Education is an essential tool for bright future for all of us. We can achieve anything good in the life using the tool of education. Higher level of education helps people in earning social and family respect and unique recognition. Education time is a crucial part of life for everyone personally and socially. It provides a person a unique standard in the life and feeling of well being. Education provides ability to solve any big social and family and even national and international level problems. No one of us can unseen the importance of education in the life in every aspect. It turns the minds towards positivity in the life and removes all the mental problems and negativity.
It changes the people’s thought by bringing positive thoughts and removing negative thoughts. Our parent plays a great role in turning our mind towards education from childhood. They try their best to give us good education from the popular educational institutions. It provides us opportunity to gain technical and highly skilled knowledge as well as enlarge our views all over the world. Best ways to enhance the skill and knowledge level is to get practiced of reading news paper, seeing educational programmes on TV, reading books of good authors, etc. Education makes us more civilized and better educated. It helps us in making better position in the society and achieves dreamed position in the job.
It makes us able to become a good doctor, engineer, officer, pilot, teacher, etc in the life whatever we want to become. Regular and proper study leads us towards success by making a goal of life. Earlier the education system was so tough and people from all castes were not able to get education according to their own wish. It was very tough to get admission in the proffered colleges because of high cost. But now it has become so simple and easy to go ahead in the education.

Home is the first place of education and parents are first teacher in everyone’s life. In our childhood, we get first impression of education from our home especially form our mother. Our parents let us know the importance of good education in the life. When we become three or four years old, we sent to the school for the proper, regular and sequential study where we have to give many exams and then we get a pass certificate for one class. Slowly we go ahead by passing our one by one class until we get passed successfully till 12th standard. Then start preparations for getting admission to the technical or professional degree which is called as higher study. Higher study is very necessary for all to get good and technical job in the life.
We become a well educated person in the life by the efforts of our parents and teachers. They are real well wishers of us who helps us in leading our life towards success. Now-a-days, many governmental programmes have been implemented to enhance the education system so that everyone may get access to the proper education. Lots of advertisements are shown on the TV and news to make people aware of the advantages and importance of education especially in the rural areas as people in backward or rural areas do not want to study because of poorness and improper understating towards the education.
Earlier the education system was so tough and costly, poor people were not able to get higher studies after the 12th standard. There was so much differences and inequality in the society among people. People of higher caste were studying well and people of lower caste were not allowed to study in the schools and colleges. However currently, the whole criteria and theme of education has been changed to a great level. There are many rules and regulations have been made and implemented by the Indian government to make education system accessible and less costly for all level of people. Most importantly the distance learning programmes has made higher studies so simple and cheap so that people from backwards areas, poor people and people living good life may get equal access to the education and success in the future. Well educated people make the healthy pillar of the country and lead it ahead in the future. So, education is the tool which can make every impossible thing possible in the life, society and nation.

Not all children in India are lucky to enjoy their childhood. Many of them are forced to work under inhuman conditions where their miseries know no end.  Though there are laws banning child labour, still children continue to be exploited as cheap labour. It is because the authorities are unable to implement the laws meant to protect children from being engaged as labourers.
Unfortunately, the actual number of child labourers in India goes un-detected. Children are forced to work is completely unregulated condition without adequate food, proper wages, and rest. They are subjected to physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
Causes of Child Labour: Factors such as poverty, lack of social security, the increasing gap between the rich and the poor have adversely affected children more than any other group. We have failed to provide universal education, which results in children dropping out of school and entering the labour force. Loss of jobs of parents in a slowdown, farmers’ suicide, armed conflicts and high costs of healthcare are other factors contributing to child labour.
A widespread problem: Due to high poverty and poor schooling opportunities, child labour is quite prevalent in India. Child labour is found in rural as well as urban areas. The 2001 census found an increase in the number of child labourers from 11.28 million in 1991 to 12.59 million. Children comprise 40% of the labour in the precious stone cutting sector. They are also employed in other industries such as mining, zari and embroidery, dhabas, tea stalls and restaurants and in homes as domestic labour.
Conclusion: Government authorities and civil society organisations need to work in tandem to free children engaged in labour under abysmal conditions. They need to be rescued from exploitative working conditions and supported with adequate education. Above all, there is a need to mobilize public opinion with an aim to bring about an effective policy initiative to abolish child labour in all its forms.

Disaster is a catastrophic situation in which normal pattern of life or ecosystem gets disturbed and extraordinary emergency interventions are required to save and preserve lives or environment. India is one of the most disaster prone zones in the world due to its peculiar geographical characteristics as well as the poor social conditions in which the communities live which exposes them to the frequent destruction caused by the hazards.
For India, the major hazards are earthquakes, landslides, drought, cyclones, floods, forest fires, fire accidents etc. Rapid growth in the population rate has certainly triggered the level of disasters. Natural disasters can only be mitigated but the man-made disasters can be prevented to a certain limit. India has taken many steps and has formed many organizations in order to mitigate, reduce and avoid the hazards of the disasters.
In India, the role of emergency management falls within the jurisdiction of the national disaster management authority of India (NDMA), which is doing a great job in reducing the hazardous impacts of the disaster and is operating from a government-centered approach to decentralized community participation. But it needs much more sustained efforts to come out with a well-thought out strategy and response to minimize the colossal damage caused by disasters whenever a calamity has struck, for instance tsunami and Uttarakhand floods in recent times. We have not been able to mount adequate rescue and rehabilitation efforts to effectively deal with the situation.

World Environment Day is a campaign celebrated every year on 5th of June to solve environmental issues by implementing new and effective plans in order to make environment safe, secure and healthy for better future. It was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 during the opening of a special conference for environment named as “Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment”. It is a most important day commemorated annually to spread awareness about environment among people all over the world as well as encourage and motivate them to take positive actions regarding clean and beautiful environment on the earth. It is celebrated with lots of preparations as a big event of the year during which political attention and public actions are enhanced.
WED was established with various plans, agenda and objectives to remove all the environmental issues from this planet and make it really a beautiful planet. It was necessary to establish this particular event to focus on environmental problems and give people a face to environmental issues. Its celebration helps us to understand the importance of healthy environment for our healthy life as well as to empower public to be the active agents of sustainable and environment-friendly development worldwide. It spreads the common understanding among people that it is must to change their attitudes towards environmental issues to ensure the availability of a safer and more prosperous future to all the nations and peoples.
World environment day campaign is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Its headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya however celebrated in over 100 countries all across the world. It was established in 1972 however celebrated first time in 1973. The celebration event of it is hosted every year by the different city (known as host city) with different theme (declared by the UNGA). It is celebrated through the international collaboration of people. The theme of world environment day celebration 2016 was “fight against the illegal trade in wildlife for life” and host country was Angola.
It focuses to bring people from all countries at one track to deal and combat with the climate changes and improve the management of forests. It is celebrated with many creative activities such as tree plantation, cultural activities by students, drawing, painting, quiz competitions, debate, lectures, essay writing, banner display, speech recitation, etc on topics related to the environment protection. Workshops (regarding sustainable project management) are also organized to encourage youths about the environment and climate change issues for safe future on the earth.
In 2009, an environment fair was held in Chennai and Bangalore with the activities like on the spot painting competition, training programmes for students over e-waste management, renewable energy devices, wildlife conservation, rain water harvesting systems, waste recycle and reuse processes, debates on rising global warming, biodegradable wastes, awareness drives about “go green” revolution, etc for eco-friendly infrastructure and energy efficiency to curb global warming and save natural resources.

Water is the precious gift of God on the earth. Life exists on the earth because of the availability of water. Itself being tasteless, odorless and colorless, it adds taste, color and nice smell in the life of living beings on the earth. It is found everywhere and known as life. It takes nothing from us but gives life to us. It has no shape but takes the shape of container we store it. We find it everywhere in rivers, seas, tanks, wells, ponds, etc but we lack clean drinking water. Three-fourth part of the earth is full of water however we need to conserve water as there is very less percentage of clean water.
Importance of Clean Water
Without water life is not possible on the earth. All the living beings like human, animals, plants, etc need water to grow, develop and live. Water is the only source of all lives here. We need water in all the walks of life from morning till night like drinking, cooking, bathing, washing clothes, watering plant, etc. People working in different fields need water for different purposes such as farmers need water to grow crops, gardeners to water plants, industrialists for industry work, electricity plants to generate hydro-electricity, etc. So, we should save clean water for the wellness of our future generations and healthy life of water and wildlife animals. People at many places of the world are suffering water scarcity or completely lack of water in their regions.
We should understand the importance of water in our life and stop misusing it with the proper management of usage of water. We should also protect clean water from being dirty due to the soil or water pollution. We should not waste it into toilet and store rain water for this purpose.

Global warming or climate change has today become a major threat to the mankind. The Earth’s temperature is on the rise and there are various reasons for it such as greenhouse gases emanating from carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, burning of fossil fuels or deforestation.
Impact of Greenhouse Gases
The rise in the levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) leads to substantial increase in temperature. It is because CO2 remains concentrated in the atmosphere for even hundreds of years. Due to activities like fossil fuel combustion for electricity generation, transportation, and heating, human beings have contributed to increase in the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.
Global Warming: A Gradual Phenomenon
Recent years have been unusually warm, causing worldwide concern. But the fact is that the increase in carbon dioxide actually began in 1800, due to the deforestation of a large chunk of North-eastern American, besides forested parts of the world. The things became worse with emissions in the wake of the industrial revolution, leading to increase in carbon dioxide level by 1900.
Cause of Concern
According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global temperature is likely to rise by about 1-3.5 Celsius by the year 2100. It has also suggested that the climate might warm by as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next 100 years.
Impact of Global Warming
  • The sea levels are constantly rising as fresh water marshlands, low-lying cities, and islands have been inundated with seawater.
  • There have been changes in rainfall patterns, leading to droughts and fires in some areas, and flooding in other areas.
  • Ice caps are constantly melting posing a threat to polar bears as their feeding season stands reduced.
  • Glaciers are gradually melting.
  • Animal populations are gradually vanishing as there has been a widespread loss of their habitat.
As per Kyoto protocol, developed countries are required to cut back their emissions. There is a need to reduce coal-fired electricity, increase energy efficiency through wind and solar power, and also high efficiency natural gas generation.

Tobacco smoking or chewing has spread  almost all over the world . It has attacked not only on human health but also aggravated the diseases. It has taken even women and children in its grip. Sir Walter Raleigh, who brought it in Europe from America about four hundred years ago did not know one day it would become an incurable addiction of the world . Earlier it was a fashion but now it is problem.
The addict does not know that he /she is doing harm to the non-smoker neighbour also. The non smoker also inhales the air polluted by the smoke of the cigarette . Smoking is slow poison that kills a person gradually. It causes all major health hazards. The nicotine available in tobacco damages our lungs and affects respiratory system. Inspite of these warnings no one cares about his precious life. The government has prohibited smoking in all public places . But this is not providing much effective . Ash feels that there is a urgent need of Moral Education in the schools . Write this article for school magazine.

Ans.                                MORAL EDUCATION OR VALUE EDUCATION
                                                                                                                               - By Ash

Moral education or value education is the need of the hour . Most of the problems of the modern world are because of lack of morality. Our text books give bookish knowledge. They do not teach us about moral behaviour an the role of  religion in our lives. India is a secular country . So, we are supposed to teach about any particular religion  in schools and colleges. But we must give moral education .This education teaches students to behave in a moral life . Some people believe that moral education can be given better by parents at home , than by school masters and  professors in colleges . Parents have numberless opportunities of guiding their children by precept and example.
A teacher can impart moral education not only through books but also by his own conduct and personal example. He can create in the minds of the young children love for the moral value of life . Moral education does not mean religious education . it means teaching the students the value of the proper  rules of conduct in life . Therefore , moral education should be imparted from childhood so that children turn out to be better human beings and better citizens.

A well written article or a speech are a delight to read . The hallmarks of a well written article or a speech are well-orchestrated thoughts and ideas . A well written article or a speech raises a point , deals very effectively with it and steers it to a logical and a satisfactory conclusion  . And this is no mean task . It requires an imaginative and a fertile mind , creativity and certainly through knowledge about the issue . Above all , the writer must have organisational abilities.

TITLE :  The title should be catchy and though provoking . It may be inviting or even surprising . In   whatever  possible way it should be able to catch the fancy of the readers . The title could be a single word phrase or even a sentence .

BODY :  An article addresses a specific issue but there can be different ideas , points or an               arguments to support or elaborate that issue . Hence the body of the article is divided into number of paragraphs and each paragraph deals with only one idea , aspect, point or an argument . So it can be said that the body of the article is highly structural as it has a well defined beginning , a middle and a conclusion .

                                                       ARTICLE NO. 1
Ques.- Write an article in not more than 150 words as Rajat Chopra expressing concern at the   Child Abuse prevalent in the country .
 Ans :
                                                            CHILD ABUSE
                                                                                                       - By Rajat Chopra

It is extremely ironical that the largest democracy in the world , negates its very own basic ideal of equally and freedom. It is estimated that 30 million children of India have not entered the portals of an educational institution and contribute to work as child labour  . They are engaged as domestic servants or as help in way side hotels . Some work as ragpickers and some of them even work in mines which can be hazardous.
There are a number of factors which are responsible for this dismal state of affairs . It can be said that the over population is the root cause. Because of the population explosion witnessed by the nation in the past few years , a significant percentage of the population is forced to live below povety line . Those who lead a life of deprivation regard their children merely as earning hands and encourage them to seek employment even for merge returns . As children are most vulnerable defenceless they can be easily exploited . As they cannot fight for their rights they provide cheap labour and are exploited . Such a practice of child abuse has very harmful fallouts . On a national level , its is a wastage of precious human resources which are essential for  a countrys development . Above all , it is a national shame that so many children lead a life of deprivation .
The need of the hour is to take collective action to curb this menance effective legalisation and its implementation is required  to check child abuse . Those who violate the law should be strictly  dealt with Govt. , NGOs , social activists and all concerned and thoughtful individuals should come forward and raise voice against this heinous practice.
